Ragusa pays tribute to Sebastiano Tusa. On the sixth anniversary of the scholar and archaeologist's passing, which occurred on March 10, 2019, the city is preparing to commemorate him with a public meeting scheduled for March 20 at the "Feliciano Rossitto" Study Center.

The event is organized to remember one of the most authoritative figures in Italian archaeology, a key player in research and insights that have decisively impacted the understanding of the ancient history of the Mediterranean and Sicily.

During the evening, the posthumous volume "Archaeological Sicily Seen from the Sky", authored by Sebastiano Tusa together with Valeria Li Vigni, will be presented.

Attending the event will be Valeria Li Vigni Tusa and Luigi Nifosì.

The book offers a unique perspective on the archaeological heritage of the island, also narrated from above, to highlight the connection between the landscape and the traces left by the civilizations that have inhabited Sicily over the centuries.

The meeting on March 20 aims to be a moment of shared memory to remember Sebastiano Tusa, an internationally recognized scholar and a key figure in the protection and enhancement of Sicilian archaeology.

The initiative is promoted in collaboration with the "F. Rossitto" Study Center, Abulafia, Archeoclub, Le Fate, BCsicilia, and Ibleo Underwater Center.
