Sicilian wine looks far. From March 21 to 23, the 17th-century Monastery of the Olivetan Fathers dedicated to Saint Leonard, in Chiusa Sclafani, in the heart of the Sicani Mountains, will host Sicilia Wine 2026, the main B2B event dedicated to internationalization and business meetings between wine companies and foreign buyers. The event, organized by Sicindustria, a partner of the Enterprise Europe Network, aims to strengthen exports, networking, and commercial relationships in international markets.

About fifty Sicilian companies, representing the island's agri-food excellence, will participate in the event. In addition to wineries, this year there will also be producers of oil and flour, further expanding the offering and providing buyers with an even more comprehensive overview of the region's production quality. The event is designed as an operational business platform, entirely built around meetings between companies. Specifically, Sicilian producers will meet 15 international buyers from Argentina, Brazil, Denmark, France, Germany, India, Latvia, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, and Switzerland, in a packed schedule of planned B2B appointments. Alongside business meetings, the program also includes networking sessions, tasting moments, and masterclasses dedicated to Sicilian wine and oil, aimed at deepening knowledge of the products and strengthening dialogue between producers and international operators.

"Sicilia Wine 2026 – explains Luigi Rizzolo, president of Sicindustria/EEN and SFC – Confindustria Training Systems – fits into a particularly delicate but also rich phase of opportunities for the internationalization of Italian companies. In recent months, the European Union has signed a trade agreement with the Mercosur countries, strongly supported by Confindustria, and has concluded negotiations for a free trade agreement with India, aiming to gradually reduce tariffs and expand export opportunities. It is no coincidence that India was already present in the last edition of the event, anticipating a trend that today sees that market among the most strategic for the growth of Italian exports. In this context, Sicilia Wine confirms its role as a business platform for Sicilian companies, with Argentina, Brazil, and India as strategic markets on which to build new commercial opportunities and consolidate the presence of Sicilian wine in the world, especially in light of the uncertainties affecting the U.S. market."

During the three-day event, there will also be space for the themes of social inclusion and sustainability with Grapes of Change, the European project funded by the CERV program – Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values, promoted by SFC – Confindustria Training Systems together with 14 European partners, dedicated to promoting gender equality in the wine sector.
