Solidarity Paw, Municipality of Ragusa and youth council together for animals

From March 26 to 31, Ragusa will host “Zampa Solidale”, the collection campaign promoted by the Youth Council of the Municipality, with the support of the Administration, to provide tangible help to animals in difficulty in the area.

The initiative arises from the sensitivity and commitment of the young people of the Council, who have taken care of the design and organization together with the members of the youth body.

Citizens can contribute by donating kibble, wet food, antiparasitics, and blankets, materials intended for the animals cared for daily by volunteers and tutors. The active collection points at the businesses that have joined are:

The collected materials will be distributed to support the feline colonies present in the city and the tutors who follow the reintroduced dogs, thus providing concrete support to those who, every day, take care of the care, feeding, and monitoring of the animals. The distribution will take place according to transparent criteria, taking into account the registered feline colonies, the tutors of the reintroduced dogs, the indicative number of assisted animals, and the total amount of donations.

“This initiative demonstrates how young people, the administration, and associations can be protagonists of concrete actions in favor of the community – declares the animal protection assessor Andrea Distefano –. The work carried out every day by volunteers, holders of the feline colonies, and tutors engaged in the management of reintroduced dogs represents a fundamental safeguard for the territory. Through this collection, real and direct support is created for those working in the field, strengthening collaboration between institutions, youth, and volunteering.”

These initiatives should not be overlooked, as they represent the sign of a community that has respect and recognizes shared values of care and attention for the world around us.”
