Comiso, "Student Connections" returns. Here are the news.

Comiso hosts the second edition of “Student Connections”, a review dedicated to the themes of respect and kindness.

“It is important to strengthen the value of authentic identity through an initial critical awareness of digital and musical messages,” says the municipal councilor for Public Education, Giusi Cubisino.

“‘Like or life’ in the digital age is a concept of fundamental importance, especially for children and young people defined as ‘digital natives’,” Cubisino further states.

The project is aimed at preschool, primary, and lower secondary schools.

“The goal is to guide children in discovering emotions and the value of words, helping them to distinguish between real and virtual experiences, strengthen emotional awareness and the importance of authentic relationships, promote guided reflection on identity, friendship, and communication in the digital age, encouraging a responsible use of words.”

The educational path is structured along precise lines: emotional education through stories, music, and expressive languages; initial reflections on the difference between lived life and the digital dimension; enhancing “kind words” as a tool for positive relationships. There will also be space for exploring personal identity between reality and the virtual world, distinguishing between online approval and authentic bonds, the power of the verbs “respect, build”, and music as a language capable of conveying emotions and cultural models.

The itinerary will culminate in the “Student Connections Week”, scheduled for May.

On the final day, when all institutions will be “connected” within the Bufalino Foundation, the municipal administration has included the initiative “The Author's Song: between word and sound”, entrusted to maestro Paolo Li Rosi. The project will involve a group of students from lower secondary school and the music high school, aiming to guide them in discovering the Italian author's song, understood as an art form that combines poetry, music, and social commitment.

“I take this opportunity to thank all the school principals involved and all the teaching staff, as always attentive, collaborative, and available,” concludes councilor Giusi Cubisino.
