The celebrations in honor of Saint Joseph continue and intensify at the Church of the Most Holy Savior, marked by an ever-growing participation and intense moments of reflection.
During the celebration animated by the community of the Blessed Clement Marchisio parish, Pastor Don Giuseppe Ramondazzo, in the presence of Pastor of the Most Holy Savior, Don Corrado Garozzo, offered the faithful a meditation focused on the primacy of listening to the Word of God, recalling the imperative that runs throughout Scripture: “Listen, Israel”.
Don Ramondazzo urged everyone to ideally replace their own name with that of Israel, reminding that the Lord continues to address each man and woman personally. Listening, he emphasized, cannot be superficial or forgetful, but must transform into deep acceptance, the ability to internalize the Word, make it one’s own, and conform daily choices to it.
“The true believer – he said – is one who does not limit himself to hearing, but strives to live what he has listened to”.
The priest then recalled the value of God’s law, emphasizing how this week the community has been invited to rediscover its entirety, without making convenient selections. “The Word is that – he reiterated – and we cannot modify it or interpret it as we please”. Over time, due to human frailty, there has been an attempt to adapt it, but the Church calls us to preserve it as it is, because what God says is sacred.
A warning also connected to the history of the people of Israel, who stumbled when proclaiming to observe the law but did not put it into practice. “And how many times – he added – do we also call ourselves believers, but then do not live what we profess”.
The program of the celebrations includes, for tomorrow, Sunday, March 15, the external feast of the patriarch Saint Joseph: Eucharistic celebrations, blessing of pets in the churchyard, and a solemn procession with the revered statue through the streets of the neighborhood, followed by the concluding fireworks display.
Monday, March 16 the events will continue with Eucharistic adoration and the Mass animated by the Saint Joseph Artisan parish, culminating in a community journey that intertwines faith, tradition, and participation.
The community of the Most Holy Savior invites faithful and devotees to share the upcoming moments, letting themselves be guided by the example of Saint Joseph and the words of Father Ramondazzo, which call to the essentiality of listening and the concreteness of a lived faith.
