Modica once again achieves the Plastic Free recognition, confirming itself among the Italian cities most attentive to sustainability and environmental protection. This result does not come by chance, but is the result of daily, constant work shared between the administration, municipal offices, and citizens. The news was announced directly by Mayor Maria Monisteri, who celebrated the milestone on social media, calling it "a result of today that looks to tomorrow".

The recognition, awarded by the national association Plastic Free, certifies the city's commitment to reducing single-use plastic, promoting good environmental practices, and spreading a culture of respect for the territory. Mayor Monisteri publicly thanked Councilor for Ecology Samuele Cannizzaro, the entire Ecology Office of the Municipality of Modica, and all those who, with dedication, work every day to make this goal of civilization possible.
