Modica, at the City Hall the visit of the commander of MariSicilia

In the spirit of cordiality and mutual institutional respect, the meeting between the Municipal Administration and Division Admiral Lorenzano Di Renzo, who has been at the helm of the Sicilian Maritime Command of the Italian Navy since last February, took place yesterday at Palazzo San Domenico.

The visit provided an opportunity for a relaxed dialogue about the highlights of the brilliant career of the senior officer, who recently assumed the prestigious position at the top of MariSicilia, following the handover ceremony that took place at the end of last month.

A path of high profile, marked by positions of great responsibility within the Armed Forces, which the Admiral recounted with the representatives of the city in a climate of broad openness.

During the conversation, Di Renzo expressed sincere admiration for the monumental and cultural heritage of Modica, announcing his intention to return privately with his family to deepen his knowledge and fully appreciate the architecture and gastronomic excellences.

The meeting concluded with the traditional exchange of gifts: the representative of MariSicilia presented the Municipality with the official crest of the Command, receiving in return the reproduction of the Oath of Castronovo — a work that enriches the council chamber — and an artistic plate depicting the Eagle, the historical and identity emblem of the city of Modica.

A gesture of strong symbolic value, which seals the bond between the Modican community and the Armed Forces engaged in the protection of the Sicilian territory.
