Saint Joseph's Festival in Giarratana with a multicolored procession
This morning the statue of the patriarch through the streets of the historic center. Shorter procession due to the threat of rain.
The exit from the Mother Church this morning
Vibrant colors and communal participation, in the best tradition of Giarratana's religious customs, characterized this morning's procession of the statue of Saint Joseph. The parade, shortened in its route due to the announced risk of rain, did not, however, dampen the will of the community of devotees and faithful to demonstrate continuity and presence. A significant moment of prayer at the crossroads, a symbolic gesture that reaffirmed the value of shared devotion.

The day began with the solemn mass presided over by the parish priest, Father Francesco Ottone, accompanied by the vicar Father Johns Avuppadan and seminarian Raffaele Vona. Upon returning to the Mother Church, a moment of fraternity among priests and bearers was captured in a group photo, confirming the spirit of collaboration that animates the celebration.

Framing the exit of the statue was the fireworks display that contributed to an atmosphere of intense participation. In the afternoon, following the 7 PM mass, the return procession will begin, concluding with the welcome of the statue in the square. This will be followed by the fireworks show organized by Elia Fireworks and the final return to the Mother Church.

Tomorrow, Monday, March 16, the celebrations will continue with the eucharistic celebration at 6 PM and the final of the Scala 40 tournament, followed by the awards ceremony in the parish hall: an opportunity to also experience the communal and convivial aspect of the occasion, capable of uniting different generations and strengthening the sense of belonging.
The parish of Maria SS. Annunziata and San Giuseppe, together with the celebration committee and priests Father Francesco Ottone and Father Johns Avuppadan, invites all citizens to participate with joy and devotion in the scheduled events, to pay homage to the Patriarch in an atmosphere of faith, tradition, and shared celebration.
