Orange weather alert, still no decision on schools in the province of Ragusa
The alignment of the mayors must be comprehensive before any determination on the matter. More will be known in the evening.
The province of Ragusa is preparing to face a new wave of bad weather. The regional Civil Protection has issued an orange weather alert for tomorrow, which also affects the entire Ibleo territory. Heavy rains, thunderstorms, and strong gusts of wind are the expected scenarios, with possible hydrogeological and hydraulic criticalities.
In several municipalities, the administrations have already prepared the necessary ordinances, ready to be signed in case of worsening weather conditions. However, at the moment no mayor has yet adopted official measures. The shared approach is to wait for an overall alignment among all the mayors of the Ibleo area, in order to ensure uniformity in decisions and any preventive measures.
The informal meeting among the mayors will continue until late afternoon, and only after 7 PM is a clearer picture expected. The goal is to avoid fragmented choices and ensure a coordinated response, especially regarding the possible closure of schools, the management of essential services, and guidance for citizens.
In the meantime, the general recommendation remains one of caution: limit unnecessary travel, pay attention in flood-risk areas, and follow the official updates from the municipalities and the Civil Protection. The next few hours will be crucial to understand the evolution of the disturbed front and any measures that will be jointly adopted in the Ibleo territory.
