Vaccinations in Comiso, issues in the facilities. The complaint from Nursind
Waste, lack of air conditioning, no space for families. The Asp should intervene.
The situation reported by Nursind
Degraded conditions in the facilities of the Asp where over a thousand pediatric vaccinations are administered each year. This was reported by the Nursind union, led by Giuseppe Savasta, which states that it had already reported a series of issues deemed "easily resolvable" to the management of the Provincial Health Authority of Ragusa back in February.
However, weeks later, according to the organization, no response has been received nor have any concrete interventions been initiated.
Among the highlighted problems, the accumulation of waste stands out in front of the rear entrance of the facility, corresponding to the parking areas used by the public: numerous uncollected bags that the union describes as "inappropriate for a public health service".
Nursind also points out the absence of filter rooms and a welcome area, such as a front office or spaces for managing flows, which are considered essential for efficient organization and proper service utilization.
Additionally, there is a lack of air conditioning systems: in winter, staff and users are forced to wear jackets, while in summer the environments become excessively hot, causing particular discomfort for children, even very young ones.
Another critical issue is the lack of a nursery or spaces dedicated to families, for breastfeeding or changing diapers.
While emphasizing the professionalism of the nurses who provide the service daily, Nursind urges the Asp to intervene urgently to ensure adequate working and welcoming conditions for such an important facility.
