Ragusa Ibla and the construction sites for 5G Fiber, here's how traffic will be revolutionized.

The Municipal Police of Ragusa has issued ordinance no. 171 which modifies and integrates the previous traffic regulations to allow for the excavation works aimed at the installation of the 5G broadband network by the company Fibercop S.p.A. The changes to the schedule are necessary due to the adverse weather conditions that prevented the opening of the construction sites on the initially scheduled date. Below are the details of the measures that will affect Ragusa Ibla.

1) Via del Mercato - March 18, 2026, from 07:30 to 17:00: total closure to traffic in the section between Piazza Repubblica and civic number 158.

- From March 19 to 21, 2026, from 07:30 to 17:00: establishment of one-way traffic from Largo Camerina towards Piazza Repubblica, with exceptions for buses, emergency vehicles, and police, as well as for vehicles authorized for the ZTL of Via XI Febbraio.

- No parking with removal throughout the affected section and narrowing of the roadway to a single lane.

2) Via Orfanotrofio and Via delle Suore - From March 23 to 28, 2026, from 07:30 to 17:00: no parking with removal in Via Orfanotrofio (section between Via delle Suore and Via Conte Cabrera) and along the entire length of Via delle Suore, with simultaneous narrowing of the roadway.

3) Via Addolorata - From March 30 to April 3, 2026, from 07:30 to 17:00: no parking with removal on both sides of the entire section.

- Establishment of alternating one-way traffic, regulated by traffic controllers or a mobile construction traffic light.

- The uphill one-way will also be signaled at the intersection between Via Monelli and Corso Mazzini. Appropriate signage will be installed in the sections affected by the works.
