Protest of Empedocle students: "Unsafe school, we want the repairs"

This morning, students from the Empedocle Musical High School of Agrigento who attend classes at the Calcarelle location took to the streets.

In front of the Prefecture of Agrigento, a protest was staged to demand decisive interventions for the safety of the institution where they attend classes.

The complaints concern plaster falling from the ceilings, water infiltrations that compromise the healthiness of the environments, and a general precariousness that makes daily educational activities a constant risk.

A situation for which, by the end of February, safety works were supposed to begin, but which have not started yet.

The situation was reported a few days ago by a parent, who highlighted that the Ecua premises designated for the “Empedocle” high school required urgent maintenance work also due to damage caused by bad weather.

The students met with the president of the Free Consortium Giuseppe Pendolino, who assured that the Authority will intervene soon to address the issues related to water infiltrations, although there is an ongoing discussion with the Municipality of Agrigento regarding the ownership of the property.
