The Chamber approves majority resolution: commitment to participate in the EU effort against Iranian missiles and drones
The resolution also addresses the 'deployment and repositioning of air defense and missile defense systems and surveillance, within the perimeter of what is authorized in the geographical area of intervention
The Chamber of Deputies has approved the majority resolution that commits the government "to participate" in the "common effort within the EU to support, if requested, EU member states in the defense of their territory against missile or drone attacks from Iranian sources" and to "confirm compliance, in the use of military installations present on national territory and granted to U.S. forces, with the legal framework defined by the existing international agreements".
The resolution also addresses the "deployment and repositioning of air and missile defense systems and surveillance, within the perimeter of what is authorized in the geographical intervention area, to protect Italian citizens, to support partner countries in the Gulf area, and for the safeguarding of strategic infrastructures present in the area, to protect primary national interests".
