Naples celebrates Sal Da Vinci who puts an end to the controversies: 'Do not respond to provocations'
The singer's reference who won Sanremo is to the recent article by Aldo Cazzullo in Corriere della Sera
"A lot of provocations have come, maybe sometimes the mind generates some strange things. I simply brought a song about love, if love is a violent thing then maybe we are in the wrong world. But please, don't respond to the provocations that are made to us, let's think about the music and let's think about all the beautiful people of this land and that's it." This is how Sal Da Vinci responds, without naming names, to the criticisms (including that of the deputy director of Corriere della Sera Aldo Cazzullo) regarding his winner song at Sanremo, during the celebration held this afternoon in Naples.
The celebration, lasting about half an hour, began on the steps of the first municipality headquarters in largo Torretta, in Chiaia: the singer appeared to the public amidst the notes of "Per sempre sì", sung and danced by hundreds of people.
The singer showed the Sanremo trophy thanking those present for their support and encouragement, singing some verses of the song broadcast in full by the speakers.
From the balconies of the adjacent houses, many leaned out to pay tribute to the singer.
"I wanted to celebrate here because it is from this neighborhood that everything started," he said. "The echo of Torretta has reached all over the world. This award smells of dreams fulfilled. Remember that it is us who move away from love, love does not move away from us."
Giulia and Vittoria, 11 and 9 years old, arrived at 2:30 PM with their mother to get a spot right in front of the barriers. They waited for their idol holding sheets of paper that read "Sal we love you we are proud of you" and also "I really like your song, I love you".
"Sal is our champion," some fans shouted, while the rest of the square continued to sing "Per sempre sì".
The celebrations concluded with toasts and cake cutting. The first municipality presented a plaque to the singer. Among the reasons: "The municipality proudly welcomes an artist who carries in his heart his roots and his people. Born and raised in these streets, he has transformed sacrifice and determination into an exemplary journey, demonstrating that those who never stop believing in their dreams can achieve extraordinary goals."
While waiting for the singer to arrive in Largo Torretta in the Chiaia area, his mother Nina commented on the victory at Sanremo: "When Sal won, I felt unwell and couldn't understand what was happening. However, it was the audience that encouraged me during that week because when I saw how they welcomed him from the first night, I felt he had already won." She concludes: "this career brings a lot of satisfaction, but also many sacrifices and difficult moments."
