The investigating judge of Palermo Walter Turturici will decide on April 20 regarding the request for indictment made by the Palermo Prosecutor's Office against regional tourism assessor Elvira Amata. On the same date, he will also rule on the abbreviated trial concerning the co-defendant, entrepreneur Caterina Cannariato, who has requested the alternative procedure. Both are accused of corruption. The discussions of the parties are instead scheduled for March 23.

According to the indictment, Amata allegedly had Caterina Cannariato (legal representative of A&C Broker S.r.l.) promise and provide her with significant benefits "in the employment (from September 26, 2023, to March 2024) of her nephew Tommaso Paolucci at A&C Broker S.r.l. and in the payment of accommodation expenses for him at the accommodation facility called "Leone Suite B&B" in Palermo during the period September 2023-March 2024 (totaling €4,590.90 plus VAT)".

This in exchange for the assessor's decree through which Amata "identified the event promoted by the Marisa Bellisario Foundation (of which Cannariato was the regional representative) called "XXIII ed. Woman, Economy and Power", for the purpose of granting a public funding of €30,000".
