But how is Putin really? The video mistakenly released by the Kremlin that raises many doubts
The Russian leader is unable to speak. The footage was later removed by his aides but is circulating on the web
Off-schedule for the traditional message from Vladimir Putin to Russian women for March 8. For the first time in years of impeccable direction, the armor of propaganda has cracked: on the official channels of the Kremlin, primarily on Telegram, the unedited version of the speech was accidentally released.

Neither Putin's administration nor journalists from the Kremlin circle noticed the incident and published the video on… pic.twitter.com/9BvY6RqyZM
In the raw footage, which remained online for only "a few minutes" before being hastily removed, the president suddenly interrupts himself. He clears his throat, looks off-camera, and, with a hoarse tone, admits to having a scratchy and dry throat after a day full of commitments. He explains that he has "almost started to cough" and asks the crew to start "from the beginning".
Shortly after, the recording was replaced with the official version, polished and without uncertainties, in which Putin smoothly praises the "charm", "determination", and "resilience" of Russian women.
In the digital age, however, a removed clip doesn't truly disappear: users saved it, and the fragment went viral, bouncing across major outlets.
This is a slip-up for a usually granite communication machine. Abroad, outlets like Newsweek, Yahoo News, and The Moscow Times described the off-air moment as a "rare glimpse" behind the scenes of a presidential image meticulously constructed to project the idea of an infallible leader fully in control of the scene.
The episode, although ordinary on a health level, takes on significant political relevance. For years, the Kremlin ecosystem has worked to conceal any signs of vulnerability from the head of state through highly controlled framing and flawless recordings.
Showing a physical weakness on a highly symbolic occasion like March 8 has triggered a predictable wave of reactions on social media: alongside ironies and memes about the cough, the usual conspiracies about the leader's health and the use of body doubles have resurfaced. Aside from the conspiratorial "noise," one fact remains: the Russian communication machine has made a misstep. A small technical stumble that has pierced the official narrative, revealing an unexpected glimpse of vulnerability and demonstrating that the Moscow direction is not flawless.
