The White House on X mixes Call of Duty scenes with real attacks on Iran: the video that is causing a stir
The post is the latest in a series of cases where U.S. agencies have used video game images
Between fiction and reality, the White House's X account has published a video that combines scenes from a video game with actual military attacks against Iran.
As noted by journalist Drew Harwell of the Washington Post, the initial animation comes from "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III", a title from the famous first-person shooter franchise published by Activision Blizzard, part of Microsoft.
In the video, just over a minute long, the actions of U.S. military against Iranian targets are shown.
The original post is accompanied by the text, "courtesy of Red, White & Blue", a reference to a package that can be purchased in the game to equip one's character with weapons that fire projectiles with different colored trails.
This is not the first time that the American administration mixes field activities with elements from the video game industry on social media.
A defining moment in history.
A clear mandate from the American people.

In September 2025, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security shared a video montage of Ice agency raids on X with the caption "Gotta Catch 'Em All" accompanied by the theme from the Pokémon TV series.
In October, another post on X from the same department used an image from the Halo video game to recruit new personnel for Ice with the slogan "destroy the flood".
Within the game, the "flood" are a parasitic alien species, the main threat to the protagonist.
