Atlantic disturbance approaching: orange alert in two regions, thunderstorms in Sicily and Calabria
Strong winds and hail are on the way; yellow alert in several regions
The transit of an Atlantic disturbance is causing bad weather in the North-West of Italy and, moving towards the South-East, will bring, on the day of tomorrow, a decided worsening of weather conditions in our southern regions, with precipitation that will be more widespread and also of a thunderstorm nature, in Sicily and Calabria. The Department of Civil Protection has issued a warning of adverse weather conditions, which supplements and extends the one issued yesterday.
The warning forecasts from the morning of tomorrow, Sunday, March 15, precipitation from scattered to widespread, also of a downpour or thunderstorm nature, in Sicily extending, from late morning, to Calabria. The phenomena will be accompanied by heavy downpours, strong gusts of wind, local hailstorms, and lightning.
Based on the expected and ongoing phenomena, an orange alert has been assessed for the day of tomorrow in parts of Liguria and Lombardia, and a yellow alert in Liguria, Calabria, Sicily, and parts of Puglia, Basilicata, Emilia-Romagna, Piemonte, Lombardia, and Valle d'Aosta.
