Iran on the health of Mojtaba Khamenei: "He is in good health and fully governs." Inquiry commission on drones
The Iranian Foreign Minister accuses the United States and Israel of striking Arab countries from specific positions.
"The Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is in good health and fully governs the country". This was stated today by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, in response to reports about Khamenei's absence from public life and television since he was elected last week. "The situation in the country is stable", Araghchi added, as quoted by the Irna agency. President Donald Trump stated yesterday that he doesn't even know if Mojtaba Khamenei is alive. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth also claimed that Khamenei is "injured and likely disfigured".
Iran then accused the United States and Israel of "targeting Arab countries from specific positions" during the ongoing war, claiming to have "only attacked U.S. bases and their interests in the region, which have acted against Iran", Araghchi said again, speaking to Al-Araby Al-Jadeed, in response to international condemnations for Iranian attacks against Gulf countries and particularly against their residential areas.
Araghchi added that Tehran is ready to establish a joint investigation commission with the countries in the region, in order to determine whether the targets were hit or not by American Lucas drones, similar to Iranian Shahed drones.
Iran has therefore warned other countries "to refrain from any action that could lead to escalation and an extension of the conflict". This was communicated by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in a phone call to his French counterpart Jean-Noel Barrot, according to a statement from the Tehran ministry, following Donald Trump's request to several countries, including France, China, Japan, and the United Kingdom, to send military ships into the Strait of Hormuz to ensure the safety of maritime traffic.
