Debris from intercepted rockets hits the Italian Unifil base in Shama.
No serious injuries, only one soldier reports pain in an eye.
In the late afternoon today, at the Unifil base in Shama in southern Lebanon, home to the Italian-led West Sector Command, some debris likely caused by rockets intercepted in the air by Israeli missile defense systems fell.
According to initial information, no one was injured. Only one Italian soldier, who was immediately assisted by the medical staff at the base, complains of pain in one eye despite not having any injuries. His condition is not a cause for concern.
Defense Minister Guido Crosetto is in contact with the Chief of Defense Staff, the Joint Operations Command, and the commander of the Italian contingent of Unifil to receive continuous updates on the conditions of military personnel and the ongoing situation.
