Scicli, evades house arrest and damages some businesses: ends up in prison

The Carabinieri of the Tenenza di Scicli executed a court order for the suspension of house arrest with simultaneous incarceration, issued by the Supervisory Office of Syracuse, against a 29-year-old already sentenced to two years for theft and robbery.

In recent days, the young man, in an evident state of psychological and physical alteration, allegedly entered a supermarket in an attempt to steal some bottles of alcohol.

To ensure his escape, he allegedly attacked some employees, who sustained minor injuries, and damaged shelving and glass doors of the establishment.

The violent behavior reportedly continued in another store, not far away.

Following numerous reports, the military personnel of Scicli, with the support of a patrol car from the Radiomobile Unit of the Modica Company, intervened and managed to apprehend the man, who was then handed over to medical personnel and transported to the Nino Baglieri Hospital in Modica.

For the alleged offenses, the 29-year-old has been reported to the Iblean judicial authority for escape, robbery, personal injury, and damage.

Informed of the incident, the supervisory magistrate of Syracuse ordered the suspension of the house arrest regime and the immediate transfer to prison.

After completing the necessary formalities, the arrested individual was taken to the Ragusa prison, where he will remain at the disposal of the judicial authority.
