Riposto, urbanization works completed in Archi: green spaces, lighting, and underground utilities
The intervention has allowed for the complete redevelopment of the area, which had remained without the necessary urbanization works for years.
The Municipality of Riposto announces that this morning the infrastructure works in a residential area of the Archi district have been delivered, interventions awaited for over thirteen years and finally completed by the Municipal Administration. Present at the delivery of the works were Mayor Davide Vasta, Deputy Mayor Carmelo D'Urso, the head of the municipal technical office geom. Giuseppe Messina, Project Manager geom. Salvo Puglisi, and Pnrr expert ing. Salvo Grasso.
The intervention has allowed for the complete redevelopment of the area, which had been lacking the necessary infrastructure works for years. In particular, the works for the proper drainage of rainwater were carried out, with the arrangement of gutters and collection pits connected to the pipeline that channels water towards the Archi stream, thus eliminating frequent stagnation problems. The water supply network has been completed with the final works necessary for connecting utilities and distributing water, and the subservice network has been prepared, including connections for the telephone line and the electric network, essential for making the entire area fully functional. Special attention has been given to public lighting, with the installation of new light points along the road, in the parking lot, and in the green area, significantly improving safety conditions. The road, sidewalks, and public parking have also been completed, along with horizontal signage, finally making the entire residential area fully accessible and orderly.
The intervention also involved the arrangement of public green spaces, returning to residents a small well-maintained park that is usable. The works have significantly improved the safety, traffic flow, and livability of the neighborhood, eliminating the inconveniences that have affected resident families for years, who had to cope with dirt, mud, and difficulties accessing their homes, especially on rainy days.
“Today an important result has been achieved – declares Mayor Davide Vasta – The area is small but the result is significant, because the residents have been waiting for thirteen years for the urbanization works to be carried out. In fact, they had never been initiated because the company that was supposed to carry them out went bankrupt years ago. The Municipality had collected the guarantee bond but had never managed to start the work. There was also an attempt, residents tell me, a few years ago, but it was interrupted almost immediately. When I was elected – he continues – one of the first issues raised by the residents was precisely this, and I committed to doing everything possible to realize the project. It was not easy, because it was necessary to coordinate the interventions for the gas pipeline, but in the end we did it. Today the citizens finally have a tidy, paved, and lit area. Above all – he concludes – from today they will no longer have to live with dust and mud every time it rains.” The intervention represents a concrete signal of attention towards the fractions and towards all those situations that have remained unresolved for years, with the aim of ensuring safety, decorum, and quality of life throughout the municipal territory.
