Bad weather, orange alert in Eastern Sicily: a Mediterranean cyclone is coming

Weather conditions are worsening in Sicily. The Department of Civil Protection of the Sicilian Region has just published the bulletin of the hydrogeological risk warning. For Eastern Sicily, the alert is orange, yellow in the central areas, and green in the western strip.

According to forecasts, widespread precipitation and strong thunderstorms are expected, particularly affecting the Ionian coast, which was already hit by Cyclone Harry last January.

The new cyclone will bring powerful thunderstorms that are expected to hit Sicily from late morning. The phenomena will be accompanied by heavy downpours, strong gusts of wind, localized hail, and electrical activity.
