Pozzallo, between Fdi and councilor Giannone there is ongoing controversy

Brothers of Italy Pozzallo expresses deep dismay at the conduct of city councilor Franco Giannone, who in recent weeks publicly attacked the Circle with tones deemed harsh, personal, and inappropriate, going so far as to label its members as "incompetent" and "incapable" and accusing them of demagoguery.

Words considered serious and disproportionate, in contrast to the balance and sense of responsibility required of those holding an institutional position.

Even more surprising, and difficult to understand, is for the Circle what happened next: after fueling the political clash with offensive expressions, Giannone reportedly initiated a series of private phone calls to urge expressions of solidarity on social media. An attitude deemed inconsistent and disrespectful of a serious and transparent confrontation.

Without delving into personal sensitivities, Brothers of Italy calls everyone to coherence: those who deliberately choose to raise the tones and shift the clash to a personal level cannot then be surprised by the reactions, nor invoke solidarity "alternating current".

In light of what happened also in the council chamber, where a councilor was called "fool" by Mayor Roberto Ammatuna, the party also points out a "general silence" that, in its view, deserved greater institutional attention.

Not because the directly involved party needs defense — being perfectly capable of defending themselves — but because such episodes should prompt a reflection on the level of debate within the civic assembly.

Hence the appeal to both the majority and the opposition to lower the tones and to bring the confrontation back within the boundaries of mutual respect and the dignity of institutions.

The common goal, emphasizes FdI, remains the well-being of the city of Pozzallo and its inhabitants: personal controversies, insults, and selective requests for solidarity do not help the community and drive citizens away from politics.

Brothers of Italy Pozzallo assures finally that it will continue to play its role with firmness, coherence, and respect for institutional rules, without backing down in the face of attacks, always keeping the interest of the city at the center.
