Threats to Lotito on the walls of a church in Rome: investigations underway, bipartisan solidarity for the Lazio owner
Among the messages of support was one from the President of the Sicilian Region, Renato Schifani.
"Claudio Lotito: only here are you welcome... with your feet in front." This is the message that appeared on a wall of the parish of San Frumenzio in Prati Fiscali on Via Cavriglia, in the Montesacro neighborhood of Rome. The message, painted with blue spray paint, refers to the religious funerals that take place in church. Officers from the Vescovio police station, who are in charge of the investigation, have intervened on the scene.
Probably the message is the work of the most extremist faction of the Lazio supporters who have targeted Lazio president Claudio Lotito, who in turn has received numerous expressions of solidarity from members of Forza Italia, as well as from the League and other center-right parties.
Among the messages is one from the President of the Sicilian Region, Renato Schifani: "Debate and criticism - said the governor of Sicily - are always legitimate in a democratic society, but they can never turn into threats or personal intimidation. It is necessary to firmly condemn every form of verbal violence and reaffirm the value of respect and dialogue."
The National Secretary of Forza Italia, Antonio Tajani, also wanted to express his support for Lotito: "I express - said Tajani - solidarity, also on behalf of all of Forza Italia, to Senator Claudio Lotito for the serious and threatening messages directed at him that appeared on the wall of a church in Montesacro. Dissent must never turn into hatred and violence, even verbal."
