Clash of Titans between Superconveniente Ragusa and Viola Reggio Calabria

SuperConveniente Ragusa is preparing to experience one of the most anticipated matchups of the year. On Sunday, at 6 PM, at the PalaPadua, the virtussini will host Redel Reggio Calabria in the ninth round of the return leg of the Serie B Interregional.

At stake is the top spot in Group F: Ragusa and Reggio come in as joint leaders with 32 points alongside Matera, with the same number of seasonal victories.

The Viola, however, can boast one less loss compared to the Ragusa team, having already taken their second rest round.

In the first leg, at the PalaCalafiore, it was Reggio Calabria that won decisively with a score of 96-65, led by Brown's 22 points, on a night also marked by the return of Marco Laganà in black and white, who scored 24 points in 15 minutes in front of the home crowd.

Since then, the Reggio team has only lost twice, confirming itself as one of the most solid and talented teams in the tournament.

In the last round, they achieved a narrow victory at home against Corato.

The Redel roster features high-profile players: Laganà averages 15.7 points, Laquintana 16.9, while Fernandez Pena dishes out 4.3 assists per game. The experienced core is completed by Clark and Marini.

On the other hand, Virtus has received some encouraging news: Adeola returns to availability after serving two match suspensions.

Thus coach Di Gregorio presents the challenge: «These are the games everyone wants to play. We are facing a strong and deep team that is having a great season. For us, it will be crucial to limit mistakes as much as possible, because against opponents of this level, every possession can make a difference. I expect an intense game and I believe that the heat of the PalaPadua can give us an important boost».

The officiating will be handled by referees Beccore from Messina and Tartamella from Erice.
