Green-black siege and thriller finale: Sciacca hits the guest wall, the assault on third place fades

Bitter feelings at the neroverde home at the end of a match that, with a victory, could have propelled Sciacca to third place in the standings. The home team showed personality, taking a deserved lead before conceding, at the end of the first half, the equalizer from the visitors via a penalty kick. In the second half, despite constant pressure, the winning goal did not arrive. Sciacca opened the scoring at 21': Pisciotta decisively won a ball in midfield, initiated the play, and was found in the center of the area on a header assist from Mangiaracina, signing the 1-0. Pisciotta himself, half an hour in, came close to doubling the score with a header that grazed the post. However, at the end of the match, a deflection favored Zerbo: the forward raced towards the goal and was brought down by Rizzuto. For the referee, it was a penalty, converted by Zerbo himself with coolness. In the second half, Sciacca created several chances to regain the lead. At 13', Mangiaracina had his shot saved by Tarantino, who repeated the feat at 20' and 40' on two headers from the same forward. At 18', a cross-shot from Tirone went just wide. The most glaring chance came in the fourth minute of stoppage time: Pisciotta got past the goalkeeper in the area and shot for an open goal, but Torres saved on the line with a header that was worth a goal.
