A spectacular goal by Cangemi gives Gela hope, but a defensive error allows Milazzo to come back: 1-1
The advantage comes from a beautiful overhead kick in the area, the guests do not give up and equalize with Curiale.
The Gela players celebrate after the goal.
Two wasted points due to a single defensive oversight. Gela played a great match, but paid a hefty price for the only real lapse in a judicious game. The players from Gela, despite being without some key players (Sbuttoni and captain Maltese injured, with the latter coming on after the halfway point of the second half, and Argentati suspended), delivered an outstanding performance. But if you don't close out a dominated match, you risk not winning it. And that's what happened. The match with Milazzo ended 1-1.
The biancazzurri dominated the first half from start to finish. At halftime, the home team was ahead thanks to Cangemi's stunning goal, who had just come on to replace the injured Aperi, scoring one of the most beautiful goals of the entire season in Serie D with a spectacular overhead kick from inside the opponent's penalty area. In the second half, Gela played on the counter, but they failed to capitalize on their good chances to double the lead. Thus, another substitute, the visiting forward Curiale, took advantage at the 35th minute of a general lapse in concentration from the local defense: an innocuous ball passed between Petta and Giuliano until it reached the feet of the experienced Curiale, who beat Colace in two attempts, who was also inattentive on the occasion.
