Roma falls under the rain in Como: Douvikas and Diego Carlos sign the turnaround and secure 4th place alone.
From advantage to collapse: the Giallorossi lose the direct clash and see the European train moving away.
Fabregas makes the leap. The Como beats Roma 2-1 in a high-stakes direct clash and settles alone in fourth place in the standings, moving +1 ahead of Juventus. At Sinigaglia, a match full of twists unfolds, with the Giallorossi taking the lead in the first half thanks to a penalty by Malen, only to be overturned in the second half by a lethal one-two from Douvikas and Diego Carlos. To complicate Roma's evening, Wesley's expulsion comes into play, punished with a second yellow card amid controversy.
In pouring rain, Como manages the pace of the match from the start, coming close to scoring with Ramon from a corner kick. However, it is Roma who strikes first: El Shaarawy intercepts a short pass from Caqueret and is brought down in the box by Diego Carlos. From the spot, Malen does not miss and puts the Giallorossi ahead with his seventh goal since January.
Como does not fade and comes close to equalizing with Nico Paz, who, one-on-one with Svilar, is hypnotized by the Giallorossi goalkeeper. At the end of the first half, Fabregas's team creates the clearest chance: Caqueret skips Svilar but fails to finish and sets up Nico Paz, who shoots high over the crossbar.
In the second half, Fabregas changes the team's face, switching to a four-man defense with the introduction of Douvikas and Diao. The equalizer comes from a positioning error by the Roman defense: Valle launches Douvikas, Hermoso misjudges the offside, and the Greek beats Svilar diagonally with a powerful left foot. The match ignites when Diao is brought down by Wesley, already booked: Massa has no doubts, second yellow and Roma down to ten. Gasperini protests furiously, but without the support of VAR — which cannot intervene on this type of decision yet — the verdict is final.
In numerical superiority Como increases the pace: Da Cunha and Baturina hit the crossbar, while Svilar denies Diao. On the following corner, however, the yellow-red goalkeeper is not perfect on a shot from Smolcic and on the short rebound Diego Carlos rushes in, signing the 2-1. Roma fails to react, Da Cunha even comes close to a third goal by hitting the crossbar again. At the final whistle, Sinigaglia erupts: the direct clash for Europe smiles at Como.
