Italy enters the history of the World University Cross Country Championships by stepping onto the podium five times during the two-day event that concluded today in Cassino under the watchful eyes of Stefano Mei, president of the national Fidal.
Yesterday, there was a triumphant first day with three podiums, including Lucia Arnoldo in the long cross over 10 km, where Arnoldo was joined by Sara Arrigoni (14th), Diletta Moressa (19th), and Laura Ribigini (26th), and Italy won the gold in the team combined thanks to the placements in the short cross over 3 km by Valeria Minati (5th), Melissa Fracassini (11th), Chiara Munaretto (15th), and Arianna Algeri (18th), with the trio completed by the silver in the men's combined, where the best on the 10 km was Lombard Konjoneh Maggi (4th) and Nicolò Bedini (11th), and in the short cross, the best blue was Thomas Serafini ahead of Modican Carmelo Cannizzaro (13th).

And today, the Ibleo who now trains and studies in Varese under coach Silvano Danzi, contributed to winning the bronze in the mixed relay together with Mauro Dallapiccola, Diletta Moressa, and Chiara Munaretto.
The final tally of five blue podiums in this university world championship was completed by the silver in the short mixed relay with Thomas Serafini, Melissa Fracassini, Konjoneh Maggi, and Valeria Minati.
