Lazio holds Milan at the Olimpico: Isaksen decides, Sarri sent off and Allegri does not close the gap on Inter

Lazio stops the Milan guests at the Olimpico, 1-0 the final score: Allegri fails to close the gap with the league leaders Inter, while Lazio gains ninth place with 40 points.

In the second half, a chance for Milan at 51' with a great long-range shot from Pulisic, Motta saves and repeats a minute later on a shot from Fofana. Motta proves decisive again at 62', coming out early on Leao who is ready to head it. Leao is then substituted with Fullkrug and shows all his disappointment by dramatically avoiding Allegri's attempts to embrace him: a gesture that will spark discussions in the following days.

Nkunku, who also just came on for Fofana, tries for a goal at 73', Motta intervenes again but he was already in an offside position. At 75' Milan scores with Athekame, goal disallowed for handball: the Rossoneri pressure is nonetheless increasing and Lazio is packed in defense. Modric at 82' narrowly misses the equalizer with a shot that goes over the crossbar.

Six minutes of stoppage time, a decision met with boos from the Lazio fans. They stubbornly push in order Nkunku, Modric, De Winter, and Jashari but the score remains unchanged, however Sarri overreacts due to the tension and is sent off as he believes time has expired.
