It is a day of mourning, today, for the farewell to little Domenico, the child who died at Monaldi Hospital after the transplant of a damaged heart. The square of Nola is already filling with people who have come to await the opening of the mortuary chapel, scheduled for 11 a.m. At the moment the church is still closed. Many mothers with their children are holding white flowers in their hands. Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni is expected.

In Nola it is the day of civic mourning, almost all the shops are closed and hundreds of posters have been put up along the city's streets and in front of the cathedral forecourt.

The funeral will take place in the Cathedral of Nola at 3 p.m.. The funeral rite will be presided over by the Bishop of Nola, Don Francesco Marino, and the Archbishop of Naples, Cardinal Domenico Battaglia will also be present.
