Arrested for drug dealing in Piazza Lo Sardo

As part of the intense control activities carried out by the State Police in some sensitive areas of the city center, including the central Lo Sardo Square, a 67-year-old man from Messina was arrested for possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking.

The man caught the attention of the patrol agents with a decidedly suspicious demeanor, awkwardly attempting to evade the checks without success. During the personal search conducted on him, two cases containing 11 packages of hashish and a sum of cash, considered proceeds from illegal activity, were found. Immediately afterward, a search of the suspect's residence was carried out, where another 18 doses of drugs, along with materials for weighing and packaging, were found and seized. By order of the judicial authority, the arrested individual was placed under house arrest pending the direct trial.
