A cirimonia: at Palazzo Scammacca del Murgo, the fragility of being human takes center stage
Sunday, March 8, as part of the exhibition 'Details of Contemporary Creations'
The second edition of “ZoomTeatro – Details of Contemporary Creations” continues, the review that is redefining the landscape of the Catanese scene. On Sunday, March 8 at 7 PM, at the spaces of Palazzo Scammacca del Murgo, ’A cirimonia, written and directed by Rosario Palazzolo, will be staged, featuring Palazzolo himself and Anton Giulio Pandolfo, produced by Teatro dei 3 Mestieri.
’A cirimonia is a tense confrontation between two figures suspended in a place. A deliberately useless ceremony forces them into a jagged dialogue, deformed, marked by silences heavy with fear. The language becomes rough, asyntactic, twisting; the rhythm grows until it brushes against tragedy, only to plunge into failure. A failure that is willed, chosen, almost claimed as the only possibility to close what has been started. ’A cirimonia is a theatrical act that lays bare the fragility of the human being, its contradiction, its inability to truly accomplish what it desires.

The review, curated by Open Around with the artistic direction of Paola Greco and the co-production of Palazzo Scammacca del Murgo, started last November and will continue until May 24, 2026 for a total of eleven performances. ZoomTeatro confirms its trajectory: to enhance original dramaturgies, intimate and sustainable formats, and a direct relationship between artist and audience, thus recovering the historical legacy of the Catanese Theater Club and its contemporary revival.
