Health is Woman: prevention in Catania with free screenings and vaccines on March 7 and 8
Two days for women's health: camper at Centro Sicilia, listening desks, and informational meetings
There are only a few days left until “Health is Woman”, the initiative of the Asp of Catania organized on the occasion of International Women's Day. Two days, on March 7 and 8, dedicated to prevention and women's health, with free cancer screenings, vaccinations, informative moments, and listening spaces throughout the provincial territory.
With “Health is Woman” we have chosen to propose prevention as the guiding thread of March 8 - says the general director of the Asp of Catania, Giuseppe Laganga Senzio. In a daily life marked by family and professional commitments, the attention that each woman dedicates to her health risks being sidelined. For this reason, we want to offer two days in which every woman can take care of herself. We thank the Italian Red Cross - Catania Committee and the commercial center “Centro Sicilia” in Misterbianco for their collaboration and availability in supporting this initiative.
The Family Counseling Centers, vaccination centers, mammography and gynecological screening clinics, and the Prevention Camper will be operational according to the scheduled calendar, offering services, information, and guidance to facilitate access to prevention programs and bring health services closer to women.
The synergy with the Catania Committee of CRI will enrich Sunday with the presence of numerous volunteers engaged in welcoming and guiding to services, in a perspective of proximity and attention to people; the CRI will also provide a mobile clinic and dedicated operators to support the planned activities.
Prevention represents one of the most effective tools for protecting people's health - emphasizes the health director of the Asp of Catania, Giovanni Francesco Di Fede. Open days, extraordinary openings, and opportunities for information and listening represent a first way to facilitate access to services. Furthermore, the Prevention Camper will bring our initiatives outside health facilities, bringing services closer to citizens and promoting greater awareness of health issues.
THE SATURDAY OF PREVENTION FOR WOMEN'S HEALTH - The day of Saturday, March 7 will be dedicated to oncological screenings and vaccination prophylaxis. The offices for mammography screening will be open to the public, aimed at women aged 50 to 69 years; the UOC Women's Health and Oncological Prevention (Via Gabriele D'Annunzio, 60 – first floor) and the Family Counseling Centers, from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM, for gynecological screening, including HPV tests and Pap tests, aimed at women aged 25 to 64 years.
