Metroferrovia in Ragusa and the disputed data, Giuffrida: "Just a mistake in the communication of the figures, no case"

The Municipality admits a material error in the press release regarding the Metroferrovia works: in the text released by the Press Office, an auction base amount of €12,000,000 was mistakenly indicated instead of the correct figure, which is €1,207,955.

The clarification comes after a note from Councilor Caruso, who had asked: “Why was incorrect information disseminated to citizens? The mayor should correct it”.

The administration clarifies that it was a oversight by the Press Office, which independently drafted and sent the text; as required by regulations, neither the mayor nor his spokesperson manage the institutional communication of the entity.

The competent manager has already sent the councilor a report certifying the error. Thanking her for the notification that allowed the discrepancy to be identified, the entity disseminates the following correction, already forwarded to the interested party:

“The total funding of €18,000,000.00 is divided into n. 7 (and not six) interventions, as per the request to the Presidency of the Council of Ministers prot. n. 1239 of 11/12/2024. It is confirmed that the auction base amount of €12,000,000.00 is incorrect. In fact, the intervention n. 3 named “Carmine Stop”, with a total amount of €2,500,000.00, has an auction base of €1,207,955.01.

It is specified that in order to expand the pool of economic operators, the project has been divided into n. 2 independent functional lots and that the procedure for awarding only the Lot A has currently been initiated for an auction base amount of €648,243.52, plus €87,907.47 for security charges not subject to discount.

Finally, the company C.G.C. s.r.l. has been declared the winner of the “Lot A” contract with an offered discount of 32.157%, the effective award has been formalized with Determination of Sector XI n. 5153 of 15/09/2025, specifying that D.D. n. 2259 of 13/05/2024 does not concern this award nor other Metroferrovia projects.

The contract has been registered under n. 30648 of the Repertory on 27/11/2025 for an amount of €527,695.32, of which €87,907.47 for security charges not subject to discount.
