Blitz on the A19, hashish and 8 phones in the car: the Catenanuova Polstrada arrests a courier

The highway stretch of the A19 Palermo-Catania confirms itself as one of the sensitive routes for the transit of narcotic substances, but the strict controls of the State Police continue to yield results. In recent days, an operation conducted by the Catenanuova Road Police Station led to the arrest of a man and the seizure of a significant drug haul.

The intervention took place near the Gerbini interchange, in the territory of Paternò, during a targeted patrol service aimed specifically at combating drug trafficking. The officers signaled a stop to a suspicious vehicle: during the search of the car, four bricks of hashish emerged, weighing a total of about 400 grams.

However, what struck the investigators was not just the drugs. Inside the car, a total of eight mobile phones were found and seized: four state-of-the-art smartphones and four "mini phones", devices often used in the drug trade for their ease of concealment.

The driver, a man with numerous criminal records, was taken to the offices in Catenanuova for the usual formalities. By order of the Judicial Authority, the repeat offender was placed under house arrest on charges of transporting and possessing narcotic substances.
