Fix various imperfections without spending an extra euro
The mayor of Caltagirone announces the reopening of the municipal villa after some parts of the square have been redone
The villa reopens after the renovation of some parts of the square. This was communicated via a video message by Mayor Fabio Roccuzzo.
"The necessary work has been completed to fix some imperfections upon completion of the paving of the square of our municipal villa. It was work that took about a week and a half, during which the villa was closed, but we have reopened it in all its magnificence. The work was carried out by the same company without an extra euro impacting the municipal budget - Roccuzzo continued - Some imperfections had emerged, and it was right and necessary for the Municipality to take care of fixing them, and that is what we did with the project manager and the Technical Office. I apologize to the citizens for having to close our municipal villa for a few days, but it was necessary to restore the imperfections and allow it to be reopened and returned to public use in all its splendor. I must say that some have a short memory because before the intervention that our Administration planned and executed, the villa was paved with asphalt with many scars, a testament to the numerous interventions that had taken place over 50 years. That dead memory does not lead us to understand and appreciate the beauty of how it is today. Our public garden is extraordinary, we have enhanced it with significant renovation work on the Vella balcony, with a new pavement, and we have returned it to the city. It has already hosted many events, and many more will take place this year; today, tomorrow, and Sunday there will be a event related to food and Latin American music".
"I believe that our villa - Roccuzzo concludes - is objectively much more beautiful than it was before, and I believe that this paving, these decorations are definitely more beautiful than the many scars in bituminous conglomerate that have crossed it for too many years. Our public garden is a precious asset that belongs to everyone, to the city, and the whole city must feel the need to protect and enhance it".
