Passa alla versione italiana

Insulted, slandered, and threatened by a relative, over issues related to the division of some properties, while she was alone in a car, she had no choice but to flee.

Chased for several hundred meters, after stopping, she sought refuge inside the police station asking for help from the officers on duty.

“Always being there” is the motto of the state police, meaning being present where citizens need help. As in the case of the woman who quickly entered the police station and, almost in tears, addressed the present officers saying: “Do something, help me”.

The incident occurred the other afternoon. The protagonists of the story are a thirty-year-old factory worker and a thirty-five-year-old, both from Agrigento.

For some time now, it seems, they have been unable to agree on the division of some assets. In vain, someone has tried to mediate and calm the “contenders”, who, disregarding the wise proposals of other family members and relatives, cannot set aside the animosity born from economic issues related to those disputed properties.

On several occasions, harsh words have reportedly been exchanged. Recently, the dispute took another turn. Until the last act, when the thirty-five-year-old, driving his car, pulled up next to the woman’s car, insulting and heavily threatening her.

The man even chased her and she, overwhelmed by fear, upon reaching Piazza Vittorio Emanuele, asked the police for help.
