Tajani: "Dangerous situation, huge effort for the repatriation of Italians"
Danger in the Gulf: over 100,000 Italians involved and 10,000 already repatriated; 50 evacuated from Tehran, military flights intensified and urgent shipment of medicines
Antonio Tajani
"There is a dangerous situation, very complicated" and "with an enormous government effort" everything possible is being "done to bring Italians back home", but "there are 100,000 involved in this war situation in the Gulf or in other parts of the world", of which "already 10,000 have been repatriated".
This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani speaking on Radio Globo.
"Last night we brought 50 Italians out of Tehran and we did well because they are bombing Tehran", Tajani added.
"There are so many people to evacuate" that "we are increasing flights using military flights".
The minister also explained that efforts are being made to send "medications" to those in need, citing in particular the case of some Italians "with heart conditions who are in the Maldives" and have run out of medication, which is being sent "from India, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives".
