Landslide on Via Musso, the Municipality's Alarm: "Cyclone Harry Has Worsened the Instability"
Damage of 4 million and no funds. A report has been sent to the Region: risk of collapses near homes
The cyclone Harry from last February has worsened the urban landslide on via Musso. This was confirmed by the municipal administration, which had technicians conduct inspections and sent a comprehensive report with photos and graphs to the Civil Engineering, the Civil Protection, and the control room of the Sicilian Region. It is highlighted that the landslide has further expanded towards the valley, due to the rainwater that causes the slope to slide and poses a risk to nearby homes. The instability occurred in the autumn of 2021 when the flood caused damage to the settlement, via Musso, and nearby roads, as well as to the municipal road leading to the Poggio Diana castle. The estimated damage for via Musso at that time was 3.8 million euros, but there has been no funding.
