The charm of tourist trains returns to traverse the Valley of the Temples. On the concluding weekend of the Almond Blossom Festival, Saturday, March 14 and Sunday, March 15, the FS Foundation and Italian Tourist Trains will reactivate connections on the historic railway that links Agrigento, the Archaeological Park, and Porto Empedocle.

An impressive offer that includes as many as 26 trips spread over the two days, designed to allow tourists, locals, and school groups to reach the venues of the shows while avoiding traffic and enjoying a unique panorama.

Saturday, March 14: a day dedicated to schools and culture

Saturday will focus on the world of education and groups. Departing from Agrigento Centrale or Agrigento Bassa, passengers will be able to get off at the Tempio di Vulcano stop, the true gateway to the Garden of Kolymbethra. Reduced rates are available for school groups: 4 euros per participant for guided tours in the green lung managed by the FAI.

Both Saturday and Sunday, the nineteenth-century Railway Park of Porto Empedocle Centrale will open its doors. Thanks to the collaboration with the Ferrovie Kaos association, those traveling by train will be able to visit this open-air museum for free, admiring memorabilia, models, and an immersive projection on the 150 years of the railway line.

Sunday, March 15: the climax of the Festival

Sunday will be the day of the grand finale. Trains will shuttle to transport thousands of spectators to the Valley. It is important to remember that entry to the Temple area will be reserved exclusively for holders of the ticket for the final show, while access to Kolymbethra will be possible with a symbolic contribution of 1 euro.

Useful information and tickets

Given the very high expected turnout, the trips will be made with ordinary (non-historical) material to ensure the maximum capacity of seats.

Rates: 4 euros for adults (one-way); 2 euros for children (4-12 years); free for children under 4 years old.

Purchase: Tickets are available from March 7 on the Trenitalia website, via the App, at ticket offices, and on the FS Foundation website.
