Russia is providing Iran with useful information to target American forces in the Middle East. This is revealed by the Washington Post, citing three different sources linked to intelligence.

This revelation amplifies the scenario of war: that Russia would be providing the Islamic Republic would demonstrate that the conflict is rapidly expanding, involving one of the main nuclear competitors of the United States. "It really seems to be quite a comprehensive effort," one of the sources cited by the Washington Post stated. However, the extent of Russian assistance to Iran is not entirely clear. The Iranian military's ability to locate U.S. forces has, in fact, diminished to less than a week since the fighting began, the sources said. Two officials aware of Russia's support for Iran said it does not appear that China is helping Iran's defense, despite the close ties between the two countries. Analysts have stated that the sharing of intelligence information would fit the pattern of Iran's attacks against U.S. forces. "The Russians are more than aware of the assistance we are providing to the Ukrainians," one of the American officials knowledgeable about Russia's support for Tehran said. "I think they are very happy to try to get some kind of revenge," he added. Iran is "conducting very precise surveys on early warning radars or over-the-horizon radars," said Dara Massicot, a Russian army expert at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. "They are doing this very targeted. They are aiming at command and control," he added. Nicole Grajewski, who studies Iran's cooperation with Russia at the Belfer Center at Harvard Kennedy School, stated that Iranian retaliatory attacks have been characterized by a high level of sophistication, both in terms of the targets chosen by Tehran and its ability, in some cases, to overwhelm U.S. and allied defenses.
