The city is preparing to experience one of the most anticipated and spectacular moments of the 78th Almond Blossom Festival. On Sunday, March 8, 2026, the streets of the city center will be filled with the colors and smiles of the 23rd International Festival "Children of the World". A celebration of peace and brotherhood that, to be experienced in complete safety, will require a radical reorganization of city traffic.

The Municipality of Agrigento has issued a detailed ordinance (No. 56 of 05/03/2026) that will transform the heart of the city into a large pedestrian zone. Here’s everything you need to know to avoid queues and fines.

Parking bans and closures: the heart of the parade

The restrictions will take effect from the early hours of the night. In particular, the no parking with forced removal will be established from 01:00 AM on Sunday, March 8 in the following areas:

Piazza Pirandello, Piazza Sinatra, and Via Atenea.

Piazzale Aldo Moro and Piazza Marconi.

Viale della Vittoria (section between Salita Alessi and Piazza Marconi).

Via Empedocle, Via delle Torri, and Via Gramsci (section between the Cemetery and Viale della Vittoria).

From 08:00 AM, the same areas will be closed to vehicular traffic. Piazza Pirandello will be closed to transit (except for emergency vehicles and law enforcement), while those coming from via Bac Bac will need to divert to via Amendola to reach via Empedocle or via Garibaldi.

Where to park: the Safety Plan

To accommodate the thousands of expected visitors, the Administration has identified five strategic parking areas connected to the festival routes:

Piano San Gregorio (Valley of the Temples).

Multi-story parking on Via Empedocle.

Piazzale Caos (Birthplace of Pirandello).

Viale Sicilia (C.da Fontanelle).

Piazzale Ugo La Malfa.

Tourist Buses and Folk Groups

The organization has planned mandatory routes for buses:

Group Buses: After unloading in Piazza Sinatra, the buses will turn around to park on Via Gramsci (towards the Cemetery).

Tourists from SS 640/115/122: Mandatory stop in Piazzale Ugo La Malfa (Orange Parking).

Tourists from SS 118/189: Drop-off on via Imera (near Piazzale Rosselli) and long-term parking on Viale Sicilia at Fontanelle (Green Parking).

Main road traffic changes

Via Imera: Closed from 08:00 (except for shuttle buses, taxis, and emergency services).

Via F. Crispi: No entry towards Piazza Marconi from the intersections with via Sturzo and via Demetra.

Via Acrone: Closed towards the station, except for those who need to reach the State Railways parking.
