The entrepreneurial and professional community of Modica and the province of Ragusa is in mourning for the passing of Dr. Maria Poidomani, 78 years old, a prominent figure in the Iblean economy and for a long time a reference point first for the metallurgical Almer, based in Ragusa, and later for Avimecc Spa, a leading company in the poultry sector based in the County.

Esteemed chartered accountant, a rigorous professional and a woman of broad vision, Poidomani was the trusted advisor of owner Zanetti for Almer and, until 2022, the chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Avimecc, contributing decisively to the consolidation and growth of the company.

Her managerial action was distinguished by a strong sense of responsibility towards the territory, a constant attention to local economic dynamics, and a rare ability to combine technical expertise and human sensitivity.

Colleagues, collaborators, and entrepreneurs remember her as a determined, prepared professional capable of facing challenges with clarity and a constructive spirit. The news of her death has caused deep sorrow not only in the productive world but also among the numerous professionals who, over the years, collaborated with her, appreciating her integrity and dedication.

The province of Ragusa and the city of Modica lose an authoritative voice, which made a significant contribution to the economic development of the area and to the strengthening of one of the most important entrepreneurial realities in the territory. The funeral will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Sacred Heart in Modica.
