Collision between an SUV and a Fiat Punto on SS 122: one dead and one seriously injured

One dead and one seriously injured is the toll from a traffic accident that occurred this evening along the state road 122, in the Madonna dell'Aiuto area, in the territory of Canicattì, near a gas station.

Involved in the collision, for reasons still under investigation, were an SUV, which had an empty trailer used for transporting horses, and a Fiat Punto. For one of the occupants, there was nothing that could be done. Emergency services, including firefighters, ambulances from 118, and officers from the Traffic Police and the Canicattì Police Station, responded to the scene. Initial investigations indicate that the circumstances are unclear. The deceased is Vincenzo Vigna, a retiree originally from Mussomeli but residing in Canicattì. The Public Prosecutor's Office of Agrigento has opened an investigation to ascertain the exact circumstances of the accident and to verify any potential responsibilities.
