Ragusa is preparing to honor one of the most heartfelt anniversaries of its tradition: the feast of Saint Joseph, which every year revitalizes the upper historic center and brings together a cohesive community in devotion and the desire to reunite.

The parish of the Most Holy Savior, with the support of the Municipality of Ragusa, the Diocese, and the Baps, proposes a calendar that intertwines spirituality, memory, and popular participation, restoring an authentic atmosphere of shared celebration to the streets of the neighborhood.

The novena will begin on Tuesday, March 10, opening a path of preparation that will lead the faithful to the external feast on March 15 and the solemnity on the 19th.

Every day, until March 18, at the church of the Most Holy Savior, at 5:45 PM, the recitation of the Rosary and the chaplet will take place, followed at 6:30 PM by the holy mass with homily and songs.

Different parish communities will take turns participating, and food items will be collected for the parish Caritas for charitable purposes.

On Tuesday, from 10 AM to 12 PM, Eucharistic adoration is scheduled; at 6:30 PM, the community will gather for the mass, presided over for the occasion by Canon Don Giuseppe Antoci and animated by the parishes San Giorgio, San Tommaso Apostolo, and Anime Sante del Purgatorio di Ragusa.

The aim is to offer a time dedicated to prayer and reflection, an invitation to rediscover the profound meaning of the anniversary and to support the parish in the successful outcome of the celebrations.

The day of Wednesday, March 11 will follow the same spiritual rhythm, with Eucharistic adoration from 10 AM to noon and the 6:30 PM mass, celebrated by the priest Giuseppe Iacono and animated by the parish of San Giovanni Maria Vianney di Ragusa.

These are appointments that strengthen the bond between generations, enhance the participation of the youngest, and prepare the heart of the city for the feast of the patriarch.

In this climate of anticipation, the parish priests, don Luigi Diquattro and don Corrado Garozzo, address the faithful with a message that encapsulates the spirit of the celebration: “To Saint Joseph, whom God has called in a special way to the work of salvation for all humanity, we confidently entrust our lives, we entrust the present and the future, our projects, our work and our rest, we entrust our families, the young, the elderly, the sick, our communities and our relationships.”

In the following days, the program will be enriched with further celebrations, processions, blessings, and popular moments, culminating in the great feast on Sunday, March 15, when the statue of Saint Joseph will traverse the streets of the neighborhood, bringing with it the devotion and emotion of an entire community.
