Giarratana and the Feast of Saint Joseph, here are the first appointments

Giarratana is preparing to officially open the celebrations in honor of Saint Joseph, promoted by the Chiesa Madre – parish of Maria SS. Annunziata and San Giuseppe.

The parish priest, don Franco Ottone, invites the faithful to participate in the first events of a program that will kick off already on Sunday, March 8, immediately after the start of the celebrations and the placement of the statue of the Patriarch in the central nave, scheduled for today.

Tomorrow, two services are on the calendar: at 8:30 AM in the church of Saint Anthony Abbot and at 11:00 AM in the church of Saint Bartholomew. In the afternoon, at 5:30 PM, the Rosary, the Chaplet, and the singing of the Litany of Saint Joseph will take place; following that, at 6:30 PM, the Holy Mass will be presided over by don Innocenzo Mascali, dedicated to the theme “Saint Joseph, the docile man of the Holy Spirit.”

On Monday, March 9, the community will gather again at 5:30 PM for moments of prayer, while at 6:00 PM the Eucharistic celebration will be presided over by don Mauro Nicosia, who will lead the reflection on “Saint Joseph, a model of faith.”

On Tuesday, March 10, the same schedule will be followed: community prayer at 5:30 PM and, at 6:00 PM, Mass presided over by don Salvatore Giaquinta, focused on “Saint Joseph, the man of prayer.”

Don Franco Ottone emphasizes the importance of living these days as a spiritual preparation journey and as a unity of the community, in anticipation of the central moments of the feast, which will continue in the following weeks.

Alongside the religious program, starting from Monday, the folkloric calendar will also begin, active until March 13, with the PlayStation Fifa 26 tournament, as well as billiards and scala 40 competitions. Registrations must be submitted by March 8; the participation fee is set at 5 euros per person.
