Mauro Pantò, president of the company participated by the Sicilian Region Sas (Servizi ausiliari Sicilia, with 3,551 employees), has resigned. The governor Renato Schifani had a few days ago revoked the appointment following the revelations by Repubblica regarding the hiring of disabled individuals, relatives of politicians, through the consortium Sintesi. With Pantò - a candidate of the Dc in the last regional elections, not elected - also leaving are the other two members of the Board of Directors: Alfredo Vinciguerra (from FdI) and Rosalia Cardinale (from Lega). This was reported by Repubblica Palermo.

Pantò's term was set to expire on April 30. On February 17, the Prosecutor's Office of the Court of Auditors had received two anonymous reports regarding the hiring at Sas. The shareholders' meeting has been called for March 12.
