Training, Turano: "The goal of the Schifani government is to create a bridge between school and the world of business"

During the meeting "Self-repairing the challenges of change. Between industry trends, training, regulatory framework, and business continuity", organized in Alcamo by the CNA of Trapani in the main hall of the Girolamo Caruso Economic and Technological Institute, the regional assessor for Education and Vocational Training Mimmo Turano outlined the vision and new objectives of the Region. In this regard, he stated: «The Sicilian school is growing and the Schifani government is working on a mechanism capable of truly networking and facilitating dialogue between the world of education, vocational training, and our productive fabric. The challenge is to train professionals that meet the needs of businesses and generate employment here in Sicily».

To concretize this strategy, the institutions have recently reached an important inter-assessorial agreement. Turano clarified that «in this framework - the assessor emphasized - fits the memorandum of understanding, signed by the regional departments of Education and Vocational Training, Infrastructure and Transport together with the regional school office for Sicily, which already this year allows students from the 37 vocational institutes specializing in 'Maintenance and Technical Assistance (MAT)' to directly access the qualification exam for 'Inspector of vehicle inspection centers', acquiring a professional qualification immediately usable in the national and European labor market, without having to attend a post-diploma course».

The expected impact of this measure for the future of young people and Sicilian companies was finally summarized by his concluding words: «An absolute novelty, which allows us to enhance the educational offer, create a school-work bridge, giving companies the opportunity to hire highly qualified young people».
